Kenneth J. Monast, 65

Kenneth J. Monast, 65, of East Wareham, died August 18 in Tobey Hospital, Wareham, while surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dianna M. (Brown) Monast. 

Mr. Monast was born in Brookline and lived in Wareham for many years. He graduated from Bishop Stang High School.

He worked as a Master Plumber for Barrett Plumbing and Heating Company in Falmouth for over 20 years.

He enjoyed golfing, being outside and working in his yard, and his yearly vacation to the Bahamas over the last 25 years. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. 

Mr. Monast was a member of Little Harbor Country Club.  He had served on the Wareham Planning Board and was a coach for Wareham Tiger Football and Wareham Little League. 

Survivors include his wife, Dianna M. (Brown) Monast of East Wareham; a son, Jeffrey Monast and his wife Kristine of East Wareham; his mother, Marie (Allard) Monast of Wareham; 2 stepdaughters, Heather Marshall of Medford and Emily Durand of Merrimac; a stepson, T.J. Marshall of Gloucester; 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Renee Monast and Isabelle and Raven Durand; 3 brothers, Roger Monast and his wife Linda of Wareham, Peter Monast of Forestdale and David Monast and his wife Sue of South Dennis; 3 sisters, Janet Benson and her husband Gary of Centerville, Donna Maynard and her husband Chris of Wareham and Karen Baker and her husband Keith of Wareham. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Monast, and his father, Roger A. Monast. 

Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
