Kenneth J. Sullivan, Jr., 57, of Oak Bluffs, died June 15, 2011 in Mass General Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Clarion (Benner) Sullivan. They were married for 20 years. He was the son of the late Kenneth J. “Jim” Sullivan, Sr.

He was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for many years before moving to Oak Bluffs in 1981.

He graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1971 and from the Florida Institute of Motorcycle Mechanics.

Mr. Sullivan worked as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. He retired in 2011.

He enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and all sports.

Survivors include his widow; his mother, Gertrude (Manning) Sullivan of Wareham; 2 sons, Kenneth “Joey” Sullivan, III of Wareham and Patrick C. Sullivan of Onset; 6 stepsons, Jason of Fort Hood, TX, Lewis of Nobleboro, ME, Virgil of Oak Bluffs, Douglas of Rockland, ME, Frank of Boca Raton, FL and Michael of Murphreesborough , TN; 2 sisters, Francie Grady and her husband Joe of Tolland, CT and Faith Leszczynsky and her husband Russ of Glenville, NY; 16 step-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and his beloved pets, Ruby, Tonka, and Princess.

His funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
