Kids celebrate Christmas early at the VFW

Dec 7, 2019

Kids met Santa, ate pizza, got their faces painted, and were given gifts at the Edward “Buster” Costa Children’s Christmas Party.

The party was open to all kids between the ages of three and twelve, and certainly spread Christmas cheer to dozens of children.

Costa was the mastermind behind the VFW’s children’s Christmas parties.

After Costa passed away in October 2018, his longtime partner Kathy Silva wanted to throw a Christmas party for children in his memory.

“This was his passion,” said Silva.

The VFW raised the funds for the party at a steak fry during the summer, and used them to buy food for lunch, activities and gift bags for all those in attendance, and gifts.

During the party, children got to talk to Santa, and enjoyed a performance by a magician.
