The Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford/Wareham will hold its 4th Annual Kukoo Gala on Friday, June 20 at the Kittansett Club in Marion.

The Kukoo Project includes year-long programming from club members involving birds and their habitats. Original birdhouses will be auctioned off through a silent auction and a live auction.

Most of the birdhouses to be featured have been created by local artists, craftsmen, architects, designers and celebrities as well as those created through The Kukoo Project by local youth at the Boys & Girls Club of Wareham.

Contestants and spectators alike are encouraged to attend the event. The guest emcee will be Scott Record, a singing/comedy impressionist.

Live auction items include an Island Get-Away donated by Maria Bolharino in honor of Humberto Bolarinho.

Located in Vila Franca do Campo, Azores, this private residence has four bedrooms, one bathroom with tub and shower, an outdoor stand up shower, two kitchens, one large deck, a dining room and living room.

The home is a short walk to a black sand beach and a marina with plenty of activities, including a water park.

The home is available for one week from April-August and must be used by August 31, 2015.

A small paradise offshore—the islet of Vila Franca do Campo—provides an exciting day for visitors. It is accessible by a short ferry ride.

Situated opposite the town of Vila Franca do Campo, about one kilometer from the coast, the islet is a result of the crater of an ancient submerged volcano, and is one of São Miguel’s main tourist attractions, particularly since an event in the Red Bull Cliff Diving world championship was held there.

Reservations for the event are required and are $100 per person. Festive cocktail-attire is requested. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. to be followed by the live auction.
