May is peak bird migration time, and a variety of species will be passing through Wareham en route to breeding grounds up north.

Wareham Land Trust Executive Director Elise Leduc-Fleming will lead a bird walk through Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m.

The walk will pass though forest, field and beach habitats, where feathered friends congregate on the way to their honeymoons.

Hikers can park at the Mass Audubon parking lot, located at the intersection of Great Neck Road and Stockton Shortcut Street. Hikers are advised to wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather and bring binoculars.

The hike is free, but registration is required. To register, visit tinyurl.com/ewjh9kwr.
