Late class of 2017 graduate celebrated by School Committee

It took a little a longer than her classmates, but one member of Wareham's class of 2017 has officially graduated.
LaeAnn Johnson, age 18, received her high school diploma Wednesday night at the School Committee meeting, the first time a diploma was awarded at a meeting.
Johnson completed the remainder of her courses needed to graduate this summer and chose her mother to present her with the diploma. Her friends and family attended the meeting with balloons and noisemakers to cheer her on.
“No one will ever ask you if you graduated high school on time, they just want to know that you graduated,” said Wareham High School Principal Scott Palladino, commending Johnson on her diligence to complete high school.
