Laverne J. Bowman, 77, of Roxboro, NC formerly of Wareham, died Sunday, August 25, at Royal of Norwell.  She was the wife of Isaac Bowman, Jr.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late George and Clara P. (Henry) Ferry.  Mrs. Bowman moved to North Carolina in 1980 and worked as a certified nurses assistant in both nursing home and private care settings.

She is survived by her husband, Isaac; her son, Mark O. Fonseca of S. Dartmouth; her brother, George Ferry of Wareham; and her grandchildren, Rena Fonseca and Mark Fonseca, Jr.  She was predeceased by her brother, the late Dana Ferry and her sister, the late Renee Ferry.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 30, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 11 AM.  A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
