A Live Virtual Design Public Hearing will be hosted on the MassDOT website below to present the design for the proposed District 5: Bridge Bundle Design-Build project in Mansfield, Wareham, and Lakeville, MA.
WHEN: 6:00 PM, March 29, 2023
PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed District 5: Bridge Bundle Design-Build project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
PROPOSAL: The proposed project consists of, but is not limited to, the design and construction of bridge deck replacements, bridge preservation, traffic management, pavement markings and signage, utility protection and other related bridge and highway work.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be presented in the hearing.

“The Officers of the District shall be registered voters of the District and shall consist of a Prudential Committee of five persons, a Board of Water Commissioners of three persons, a Chief Engineer, a First Assistant Engineer and a Second Assistant Engineer, who will be known as the Board of Engineer’s: a Clerk and a Treasurer”

and replacing it with:

“The Officers of the District shall consist of a Prudential Committee, comprised of five members, a Board of Water Commissioners, comprised of three members, a Board of Engineers, comprised of a Chief Engineer, a First Assistant Engineer and a Second Assistant Engineer all of whom shall be registered voters of the District. In addition, there shall be appointed by the Prudential Committee, a Clerk, a Treasurer, an Assistant Clerk and an Assistant Treasurer upon such terms and conditions as shall be determined by the Prudential Committee. The same person may hold the office of Clerk and Treasurer and Assistant Clerk & Treasurer.”

Explanation: This is a housekeeping Article to remove the requirement that the District Clerk and District Treasurer be registered voters of the District and to add the Assistant Clerk and Assistant Treasurer to the Officers of the District

Article 4: Effects of Military Service on Salary, Seniority and Leave Allowances of Public Employees

To see if the District will vote to accept Massachusetts General Law Chapter 33, Section 59 as amended by Section 1 of Chapter 137 of the Acts of 2003, as amended by section 1 of Chapter 77 of the Acts of 2005, to require the District to pay employees of the District who have been granted a military leave of absence because the employee is a member of the Army National Guard, the Air National Guard or a reserve component of the armed forces of the United States called to active service in the armed forces of the United States after September 11, 2001, the employee’s regular base salary reduced by any amount received from the United States as base pay for military service performed during the same pay period, as further described in said chapter 137 of the Acts of 2003 and chapter 77 of the Acts of 2005

Explanation: This is a housekeeping Article to allow for payment of regular base salary, reduced by the amount received from the United States as base pay for military service, to employees who have been granted a military leave of absence.

Explanation: The existing Cranberry Highway water main is a major trunk line within the water distribution system. which is 10-inch cast iron pipe dating back to 1935. Additionally, these thermal imagers have been used to locate hidden fires, hot spots and even locate missing persons during search and rescue operations.

Because the weight at the rear two axles of the vehicle, if you only use two lifts total at the rear you will be exceeding the safe working load of each lift. You must have a lift at each wheel to safely lift the Tower Ladder Truck.

This article is to replace the current computers as well as monitors, keyboards, cameras, speakers, and related equipment.

Explanation: The Wareham Fire Department Dive Team currently provides a service to the Town of Wareham and the surrounding communities. It is also part of the Plymouth County Dive Team. The Wareham Fire Department Dive team currently operates in dry suits that were purchased in 2009 along with most of the current dive team equipment. As of today, all dry suits with the exception of two, are out of service due to the age of the suits and are unable to be utilized due to being unsafe to dive in and not capable of servicing. The funding will also replace and repair, and or service the current tanks, masks, regulators, gloves, and shoes/dive fins.

To choose the following officers: One (1) member of the Prudential Committee for three (3) years, and one (1) Water Commissioner for three (3) years. The above-mentioned officers are to be voted for on one ballot. The polls will be open at the Wareham Fire District, 2550 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, Massachusetts at ten o’clock a.m. on Saturday, April 15,2023, and shall be closed at four o’clock p.m. You are hereby directed to serve this warrant by posting in six or more public places in the District or who by direction of the Prudential Committee cause a copy of the Warrant to be published in a newspaper published in the town, if any, otherwise in a newspaper published in the County, in an issue or issues immediately preceding the date of the meeting.

Hereof fail not and make due return of the Warrant with doings thereon to the District Clerk at the time and place of said meeting. Given into our hands at Wareham this sixteenth day of March in the year, 2023.
