Legion's back on a roll

Jul 7, 2010

The Wareham American Legion Post #220 seems to do things in three.  After their three-game winning streak was snapped on June 25, the team dropped three in a row.

But on June 30, the team started to turn things around.  They came back from behind to defeat Barnstable 6-2, with Ryan Delgado delivering his second grand slam of the season.    Wareham's Ian Searles got the win on the mound.

The team next rolled over Plymouth Post #40 on July 2, scoring 11 runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 4-3 deficit and invoking the Mercy Rule to end the game early. Wareham High School's Sean Conway led the offense by going 3-for-4 with two runs score, while his highschool teammate Cody Berger came in for the win.

The team continued their success against Dennis on July 2, winning by a score of 8-4 with Nick Filloramo, of Old Rochester Regional, carrying the offense by going 3-for-4 at the plate with his first home run of the season, scoring three, and accruing three RBIs. Wareham again delivered from the mound, with Mike Sullivan on the rubber for the win.
