Leonard J. Szlegier, 69, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his home in West Wareham.

Born in Acushnet, he was the son of the late Chester and Genevieve (Lewandoski) Szlegier.  A previous resident of Rochester, Leonard has lived in West Wareham since 1973.

Leonard was employed at Tabor Academy in Marion in the plant operations department.  A U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1961 to 1964.  He was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men, Cromesett Tribe No. 156 in Wareham and also enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his daughters, Rachel Nolde and Erin Snyder both of St. Augustine, FL; and his granddaughter, Mia Snyder.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., Dec. 4, 2010 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 11 a.m.
