Meadowbrook 12, East Wareham 1
Zack Moretti went the distance on the hill for Meadowbrook allowing only one run. He contributed a single, double and two runs scored as well at the plate. Sean Kelso and Timmy Peterson each scored three times for Meadowbrook.
Sean Fagan and Connor Hughes split the pitching duties for East Wareham.
Meadowbrook 6, Wareham, 3
Dylan Tiffany pitched four solid innings, allowing only one run before yielding to BJ Texeira who closed out the final two frames for Meadowbrook. Noah Strawn led Meadowbrook offensively with a single, double, walk, two runs scored and two RBI. Isaiah Gomes reached base safely twice and Cameron Demarco turned in a key defensive play in the outfield to save a run.
Stephen Toal pitched into the fourth inning for Wareham, keeping the game close. He also added a single and a run from the plate. Derek Miller pitched well in relief for Wareham and also added a single and a run, while Jacob Asiaf hit a double for his first little league hit.
Meadowbrook 11, Onset 4
BJ Texeira pitched three strong innings to help Meadowbrook remain undefeated. Noah Strawn pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing only three hits while striking out six Onset batters. Sean Kelso contributed four walks and three runs scored for Meadowbrook, and Joe Fisher reached base safely in all four plate appearances, racking up a single, a double and two walks.
Zane Clement, Isaac Nascimento split the bulk of the pitching for Onset. Trey Sheridan had a big day at the plate with an inside-the-park home run and two singles for Onset. Jared Murphy went 2 for 3 at the plate for Onset. Jonathan Wilder recorded his first Major League steal, and Cameron Kelley, Kyle Petterson, and Parker Gagnon played solid in the field in the loss.
South Wareham 10, Tremont 6
Nine-year-old rookie Danny Holmes broke open a close game with a bases-loaded double as South Wareham won on opening day. Matt Singleton also contributed an RBI single to lead South Wareham. Tanner Cannon recorded the win, pitching 3 2/3 hitless innings while striking out nine.
Andrew Gomes made his first Major League hit a memorable one, knocking in two runs with a single up the middle for Tremont. Tom Cummings pitched well in the loss, striking out eight batters in 3 1/3 innings.
South Wareham 12, Swifts Beach 6
Geoffrey Cardoza picked up the win for South Wareham with a solid 3 2/3 effort, striking out six batters. Brian Holmes led the way offensively, going 3 for 3 with three RBI's and 2 runs scored. Mike Susi and Eric Singleton each contributed singles in the victory.
Brandon Zine led Swifts Beach with two hits and two runs scored. Nine-year-old Cameron Bariteau knocked one off the fence for a double in the losing effort.
South Wareham 9, West Wareham 3
Tanner Cannon led South Wareham to a 3-0 record in a battle of unbeaten teams. Cannon went 2 for 2 with a home run and three runs scored, and struck out 12 in 4 2/3 innings on the mound. Matt Singleton went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to contribute in the win. Rookie Joe Rodrigues helped defensively with a great catch in centerfield.
Gunner King pitched well in the loss, striking out two in two innings. Rookie Damien Perry recorded his first Major League hit, a two out RBI single for West Wareham.
West Wareham 6, Onset 4
Issac Nascimento went a solid four innings on the mound for Onset in the season opener and went 2 for 3 at the plate. Tommy Noonan had his first Major league hit, also going 2 for 3 at the plate. Antwan Perry also went 2-3. Jared Murphy also was strong at the plate.
Trey Sheridan, Matthew Wright, and Zane Clement were solid in the field for Onset.
Tremont 5, Onset 1
Trey Sheridan pitched a great game getting 10 strike outs while he was on the mound, Jared Murphy came to the mound for Trey to finish the game for Onset. Kyle Petterson was solid on the bases. Will Craver also played well in the field.
Wareham 5, Swifts Beach 4
Wareham won their first game of the season, with a win over Swift Beach. Jonathon Warden picked up the win, while Derek Miller came in for the save. Wareham's hitting was led by Stephen Toal with two hits including a home run. Chase Belcher had two hits, Jonathon Warden and Cody Bancroft had a hit. Ryan Bonfiglio had his first little-league hit,while Jacob Asiaf made a nice play defensively at second base.
Swifts Beach was led by Brandon Zine who had three hits, Nick Woodward had two hits and Cooper Thornell scored two runs. Pitching for Swifts Beach was Matt Tropeano, Cooper Thornell and Brandon Zine.
Wareham 3, Tremont 2
In a game that lasted eight innings, Wareham's Ryan Bonfiglio had the game winning RBI, knocking in Cody Bancroft, who also had three hits while scoring two runs. Chase Belcher had two hits, while Wareham's Jonathon Warden, Stephen Toal, and Derek Miller pitched in the tightly contested game.
Tremont's Alex Spinner and Tom Cummings pitched a great game. Rally Wheaton, Andrew Gomes and Jonathon Edgell had a hit each for Tremont.
