Local artists hold exhibit at library
Local watercolor painter Kate Furler and photographer Leie Carmody will hold an opening for their new exhibit at the Wareham Free Library on Thursday, November 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room.
At the opening, Furler will raffle off a 15 X 15 original watercolor depicting the old Wareham Library on High Street. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Library.
The exhibit of these two library trustees’ work will hang throughout the month and 20% of any other proceeds will be returned to the library. Refreshments will be served at the opening.
Kate Furler is a popular and admired teacher in SouthCoast; she conducts watercolor classes at the Falmouth Artists Guild and at the Bourne and Wareham Senior Centers. A recent submission of one of her paintings, Sunflowers, was a prize winner at the August art exhibit of the Bourne-Wareham Art Association.
