Local author tells of King Philip's War

Jul 13, 2010

Did you know that the bloodiest war ever fought on American soil began right here, in your backyard? Visit Borders Books, Music and Cafe on July 31 at 2 p.m. to learn about King Philip's War, the uprising of Indian tribes against the English colonists which spread from southeastern Massachusetts throughout all of New England.

The talk will be hosted by Edward Lodi, author of the new book, "Curious Incidents in King Philip's War."  In this book, Lodi has gathered thirty little-known stories about this tragic conflict.  Lodi's past books include "Ghosts from King Philip's War," which contains stories of hauntings and mysteries, and "Murder at Anawan Rock," a mystery novel set in the present with a plot dependent for its solution upon incidents from King Philip's War, as well as "Secrets and Shortcuts for Successful Writing."  He will also be signing copies of his books.
