Local photographer sworn in as president of Massachusetts photography group
Susan Asaro of Susan Asaro Photography in Wareham was recently elected President of Professional Photographers of Massachusetts.
Asaro was honored at the annual Professional Photographers of Massachusetts convention held in Plymouth at the end of February. Currently serving as their vice president of communications, she was sworn in as the newly elected president of PPAM by the Professional Photographers of America President Michael Timmons.
Her term starts on May 1 and continues through April 2016.
Asaro was also awarded four blue ribbons at the Association’s annual Image Competition. A panel of six jurors from across the United States judged 188 entries of which 13 images received an award.
Susan received the Court of Honor for her illustrative image “Hard Times" series.
A Court of Honor is given to the highest scoring image in its category. She also received a Judges Choice Award for her portrait of a high school senior titled “Mackenzie."
Susan is a portrait photographer of children, high school seniors and families who works along the South Coast and Cape Cod.
