Loretta Andrews, 75

Loretta J. Andrews, 75, of Onset, passed on Aug. 8 at her daughter’s home in Annandale, Virginia after a long illness. Loretta was born in Onset and she was the daughter of the late Amelia Amado.

A graduate of Wareham High School, Class of 1960, Loretta became a stay at home mother of two children, Mark Andrews and Nina Andrews and was married to Frank M. Andrews of Onset.

Loretta’s primary job was working with Ocean Spray Cranberry Company for many years, where she eventually retired from. After her retirement, she worked part-time as a driver for the Head Start Program in Onset.

She enjoyed outdoor activities including gardening, fishing, swimming; as well, being an avid reader. Loretta also enjoyed visits to Virginia with her grandchildren, sister and taking rides with the family.

She is survived by her two children, Mark Andrews of Onset, Nina Andrews of Annandale, Virginia; her sister Kim Derakhshandeh of Annandale, Virginia: her grandchildren Ryan Andrews-Santos, Gabbriella Andrews-Santos, Angelica Andrews-Santos, Amalia Andrews-Santos, and her two great grandchildren, Carter Byrd and Levi Andrews-Santos; her Godchild Ricardo Gomes of New Bedford; nieces and nephews; Grant Amado, Sara Amado, Rachel Amado and her devoted and loving cousins. She was the sister of the late Allen Amado and Linda Gomes.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.

Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
