March activities at the Wareham Council on Aging

The Wareham Council on Aging has a variety of activities planned for March. All events will take place at the Multiservice Center, 48 Marion Road, unless otherwise indicated. Visit www.wareham.ma.us/council-aging for more information. 

Tuesday, March 5

A six-week bereavement support group will begin on Tuesday, March 5. The support group will meet on Tuesday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. lead by Chaplain Ken Hart from Compassionate Care Hospice.

Wednesday, March 6

Meet with a representative from Blue Cross/Blue Shield at 10 a.m. for help with Medicare. 

Friday, March 8

Take a trip to Foxwoods Casino. A bus for the casino will leave at 8 a.m. from the Multiservice Center and return around 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Reservations must be made ahead of time by calling 508-291-3130. The cost per person is $22.

Monday, March 11

Free hearing screenings will be held at the Multiservice center from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Call 508-291-3130 for an appointment.

Tuesday, March 12

A presentation for grandparents raising grandchildren will take place at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend.

Thursday, March 14

A ‘Wearin’ O’ the Green’ luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room. Lunch will feature corned beef and cabbage with oatmeal bread and a St. Patrick’s Day cupcake. A donation of $2.50 is suggested. Call 508-291-3130 to reserve a spot.

A seminar on Alzheimer will be held at 10:30 a.m. lead by Public Health Nurse Julia Silvia. Silvia will help attendees learn more about the disease and its treatment.

Monday, March 18

Help with wills, trusts, and proxies will be available from 8 to 11 a.m. with Jillian A. Morton, Esq. Appointments are 30 minutes each. Call 508-291-3130 for a time.

Wednesday, March 20

A free showing of “Mama Mia” will take place at 1 p.m. Popcorn will be provided.
