Margaret Cloutier, 79

Margaret P. (Smith) Cloutier, 79, of Wareham, died Dec. 8 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Armand Cloutier and the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Reehill) Smith.

She was born in Riverside, New Jersey, raised in Newport, Rhode Island and lived in Wareham, for many years. She graduated from St. Catherine’s Academy in Newport and St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in New Bedford.

Mrs. Cloutier worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for many years before retiring. She was passionate about all animals, and adored her dog Max, her constant companion. She cherished her family and friends and she was filled with compassion. Her favorite pastime was sitting on her porch enjoying the lake view from her home.

Survivors include her daughter, Michele Lamontagne (Peter Bizzigotti) of Lakewood, Colorado; her son, Michael Lamontagne (Courtney) of Burlington, Vermont; two sisters, Shirley Riall of Levittown, New York and Joyce Bonville (Wilfred) of Assonet; a brother, William Smith of Spring Hill, Florida; grandchildren Lauren and Jason Bizzigotti and Cavan and Elizabeth Lamontagne; and several nephews.
