Marie L. (Smith) Wright, 51, of East Wareham died unexpectedly Saturday, March 22, at her home.

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Edward A. & Marion L. (Corkum) Smith. She has lived in Wareham for the last 40 years.

Marie enjoyed crochet, coin collecting, camping, canoeing and spending time outdoors.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Elgar of New Bedford; her son, Kenneth Wright of New Bedford; her brother, Michael Smith of East Wareham; her sister, Kathleen Canedy of East Wareham; her grandchildren, Shayn and Brayden Elgar and Ashtyn, Analeigh and Aubree Bassett. Also surviving is her former husband, Larry D. Wright of New Bedford.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, March 29, from 4 to 7 P.m. Funeral Mass and burial will be held at a later date.
