Martha V. Strachan, 70
Martha V. Strachan, 70, of Wareham, formerly of Worcester, died March 4.
She taught school in Oxford for 30 years, and wrote numerous grants for several organizations. She was past-president and 28-year member of the Central Mass. Chapter of the Massachusetts Reading Association, and a past director and chairperson of the Wareham Council of Aging.
She was a member of the International Reading Association of East Wareham, the Wareham Free Library, the Worcester Public Library, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
She leaves a brother, Richard Strachan and wife, Doris, of San Antonio, TX; a sister, Jane Lima, and late husband, John, of N. Carver; a twin brother, Frederick Strachan and wife, Elaine, of Lyman, ME. She also leaves 4 nieces, a nephew, and 5 great-nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may by made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105, in appreciation.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 86 High St., Wareham, on Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m.
