Master Plan public session scheduled for June 3

May 30, 2017

The first public session on Wareham’s Master Plan will be held this Saturday, June 3, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.

This will be a discovery session where people can say what works, what doesn’t work and what needs to change. Last updated approximately 10 years ago, the Master Plan is the town’s blueprint for commercial, recreational and industrial development.

Holding Saturday morning sessions has worked well in other communities, but it is still a question for this town, according to Director of Planning and Economic Development Kenneth Buckland. This is the reason for having more than one way to get input on the town-wide Master Plan, he said.

There will also be an online comment procedure that will be set up for those that find that a better or easier way to respond. This is available at www.srpedd.org/Wareham-Master-Plan.

Buckland said the more input town officials have, the better the plan will be.
