Michelle Lee (Goodhue) Boyarski, 54
FALL RIVER - Michelle Lee (Goodhue) Boyarski, 54, of East Wareham passed away on Friday, July 18 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a short but fierce battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Taylor of North Attleboro, and by her former husband, Stephen Boyarski of Onset.
Michelle was born in Plymouth and raised in Halifax by her late parents, her mother Barbara (Jones) Geloran and stepfather, Anthony Geloran, as well as her father, Daniel E. Goodhue, Jr. She graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston in 1989 and then moved to Wareham when she and Steve married the following Spring. Wareham is where Michelle and Steve would make their home for most of their marriage, where she would work, and where they would raise their daughter together.
She was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews as Auntie M, both because of her name and her love of The Wizard of Oz. Her favorite sports team was the Miami Dolphins, her favorite athlete will always be Doug Flutie. She had a quick wit and was always ready with an inappropriate joke—often at exactly the wrong (or right) time—which kept everyone laughing. Michelle loved baking, especially with her favorite '80s and '90s songs playing. She was happiest dancing around the kitchen, singing along, and whipping up homemade treats.
Along with her daughter, Michelle is survived by her son-in-law, Justin Taylor and two grandsons, Lucas and Logan. Also surviving are her siblings: Billy Goodhue and his wife, Laureen, of Boston; Cheryl Slaven and her husband, Alan, of Pembroke; Paul Goodhue and his wife, Lori, of Plymouth, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Linda Lewis, Steven Goodhue, Kathleen McNamara, and Kevin Goodhue.
The family would like to give special acknowledgement to Michelle’s closest friend, Maria Luciano, of Fall River, and her husband Eddie. Maria and Eddie were important parts of Michelle’s life, helping to care for her not just in her final days but through the challenges of years prior. They shared more than a decade of cherished memories together. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Maria and Eddie for all they did for her.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Michelle’s memory with a contribution to the charities she cared most about. The two organizations especially meaningful to her were the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Inc. of Waltham, MA, and To the Moon and Back, Inc. of Plymouth, MA.
Services for Michelle will be held privately.
