Middle school teacher saves student from Starburst
Feb 2, 2017
On Wednesday, the School Committee recognized sixth grade teacher Wendy Brogioli for saving a student who was choking on a Starburst in her classroom.
Wareham Middle School Principal Dr. Peter Steedman told the committee what happened, saying a boy in Brogioli’s English class couldn’t breathe after the candy got stuck in his throat. Brogioli’s quick thinking saved the boy, said Steedman.
Committee members thanked Brogioli, with Geoff Swett saying she acted “extraordinarily professional in a high stress situation.”
On behalf of the committee, Brogioli accepted a certificate of appreciation.
