Minot Forest students help test new Google learning app
Mar 22, 2016
The students of Minot Forest Elementary school got to explore everything from Mayan ruins to Mount Everest – all without leaving the school.
On March 16, the students helped test a new Google virtual reality app designed for the classroom, called the Google Expeditions Pioneer Program. The students used the app by looking through small boxes made to look like cardboard, and decorated with slightly anthropomorphic, smiling fish, cacti, and dinosaurs.
A representative took the students through the programs, some of which have not yet been released to the public, said Principal Joan Seamans.
“Our school was a beta tester for them,” Seamans said. “The students were so excited.”
