Police have identified Francis Davis, 64, of Mattapan, as the man killed after his motorcycle hit a telephone pole on Onset Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Onset, according to Wareham Police.

The man sustained "serious head injuries" as a result of the one-vehicle crash, police said.

Officers at the scene unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate the man using CPR. The man was pronounced dead after being transported to Tobey Hospital, police said.

The accident is currently under investigation by Wareham Police and Massachusetts State Police.
