Save the date! On April 13, at 7 pm there will be a special showing of the movie The Finest Hours at the Flagship Cinema in Wareham to benefit the Wareham Free Library. The movie stars Chris Pine and Casey Affleck.Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased in advance at the Main and Spinney Branch libraries during regular hours. Tickets will also be available at the door.
The movie is based on the book The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard's Most Daring Sea Rescue written by Michael J. Tougias and Casey Sherman. During the 1952 nor'easter off the Cape, the Coast Guard rescued survivors from two ships that split during the height of the raging storm. This action packed film is not to be missed!
You can meet Michael Tougias on May 12th when he will be at the Wareham Free Library for a discussion and book signing at 5 pm. Tickets will be available soon for a chance to have dinner with the award-winning author at the Marriott Event Center starting at 7 pm.
