Napoleon N. “Nappy” Delgado, 92

Napoleon N. “Nappy” Delgado, 92, of E. Wareham died Monday, October 7, at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Jennie (Gracia) Delgado and they were married 64 years.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late Augusto and Mary (Andrews) Delgado.  A lifelong resident of Wareham, Nappy was a mason bricklayer for 56 years for Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union Local 3 in Boston.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Dudley L. Brown V.F.W. Post in Onset. He enjoyed traveling, kayaking, fishing, gardening and the beach. He was a lifetime member of the Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by his son, Armand “Butchie” Delgado of E. Wareham; his two daughters, Margaret El-Amin of Wareham, and Jennifer McCaffrey of Wake Forest, NC; two sisters, Mae Pires of New Bedford and Margaret Neves Gomes of E. Wareham; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Madeline Allen, Alice Presley, Edna Campinha, George Ferry, Manuel Neves, Natalie Matthews, Augusto Delgado, Jr., and Lorraine Duarte.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 391 Onset Ave., Onset at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Monday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM.
