One floor, two floors, filled with Seuss galore

Mar 4, 2016

The pre-schoolers of Best Friends Pre-School and their family members enjoyed a night of games and goodies all centered around Dr Seuss on Thursday evening.

The famous author's birthday was on March 2. Throughout the week of his birthday, many schools nationwide hosted events celebrating Dr. Seuss, in conjunction with “National Read Across America Day,” also known as “Dr. Seuss Day.”

Though the Best Friends Pre-School may have been a little late to the party, the Cat in the Hat sure wasn't. The school surprised the Cat in the Hat with a birthday cake. Then, he spent some time sitting in a rocking chair and inviting people to take pictures with him and sit on his lap. Some children were afraid to approach, while others willingly hugged him.

Other activities included fishing for one fish or two fish, red fish or blue fish. Children picked a paper fish out of a red and white striped hat, grabbed a magnetic fishing pole and went fishing for the same colored fish they chose.

There were a plethora of craft projects on the first floor of the building. On the second floor, children played a bean bag toss game, and ate blue cotton candy.
