Peace for Ponies chosen as Applause for a Cause beneficiary
Local nonprofit Peace for Ponies was chosen as the beneficiary of Wareham Community TV's "Applause for a Cause."
Applause for a Cause is an evening of live entertainment while in house and call-in donations are solicited for a non-profit group identified by Wareham Community TV members. The idea behind the event is to provide a local organization increased community awareness and to raise funds while showcasing area talent.
Peace for Ponies is a Wareham-based nonprofit organization run by directors Kendra Bond and Deb Sellon that rescues pregnant ponies and miniature horses from slaughter.
Peace for Ponies was chosen as a result of a "cause lottery." Wareham Community TV members were asked to submit worthy causes, a local nonprofit or some other type of community group or organization, during the month of January.
Applause for a Cause will be held March 6 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Buzzards Play Productions, 3065 Cranberry Highway.
