Learn about Edible Perennial Gardening and Landscaping from the aptly named John Root at a free presentation at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Rd., from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20. The presentation will feature the variety of trees, shrubs, vines, canes, and herbaceous perennials that can be grown in New England for harvests of fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Participants will learn how to establish and care for these plants using organic methods of cultivation. Nutritional and medicinal benefits of the plants will also be discussed. This event is co-sponsored by the Wareham Cultural Council and the Wareham Free Library.
