Plymouth man charged with drug possession after police chase in Wareham, Bourne
A 37-year-old South Plymouth man is facing drug and other charges after a brief chase that ended with him veering his car off Head of the Bay Road and fleeing on foot, police said.
Kenneth Lounge was found in the area by Wareham Police with the assistance of K-9 Rolf and Bourne Police officers. Lounge was said to be possibly intoxicated in the parking lot of the Cumberland Farms on Depot Street on Dec. 11 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police said in a statement.
When Officer Nate Aronson arrived at the store, Lounge’s car was seen leaving the lot. Aronson attempted to stop the car. However, it sped up and headed eastbound on Cranberry Highway. From there, the car turned onto Redbrook Road and ended up in Bourne off Head of the Bay Road. Police said Lounge was found in the area after fleeing on foot.
Lounge has been charged with multiple criminal motor vehicle charges and also possession of a Class A substance (heroin). Police said approximately 1 gram of heroin was found in a folded piece of paper on the dashboard of his car.
