Wareham Police have arrested Brian Joubert, 40, for home invasion and assault after he allegedly forced his way into a neighbors' apartment with a baseball bat and struck two victims.

The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on November 9 at 412 Main St.

Two victims, a 38-year-old male and a 41-year-old female were allegedly assaulted by Joubert after he forced his way into their apartment.   The victims told police that Joubert struck the male with the bat and then punched and choked the female.

The male victim then told police that he was able to get control of the bat and managed to push Joubert out the door and that he then fled the area. The victims told officers that Joubert was known to them and was upset over some money that was owed to him.

Police arrested Joubert at his residence across the street, 451 Main St, and charged him with home invasion, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (baseball bat), assault and battery, and intimidating a witness.  He was held without bail overnight at the Wareham Police Station and transported to Wareham 4th District Court for arraignment the next morning.

The victims were treated and released at Tobey Hospital in Wareham for minor injuries. Joubert was also treated and released at Tobey after complaining of a shoulder injury.
