Police investigating Depot Street shooting

A 24-year-old Wareham man was shot in the leg on Depot Street at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, August 23.

According to Wareham Police, the man was driven to Tobey Hospital by a friend after the incident and was later transported to a Boston-area hospital via medical helicopter for his injury. Police said the wound was not life-threatening.

Further details surrounding the shooting were not available. No arrests have been made.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, which police said they do not believe is random.

Road cones and police tape surrounded a trailer parked in a Depot Street yard while police investigated. The trailer is labeled “M&M’s Kitchen.”

The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
