Raffle to benefit Lopes Playground rebuild
Wareham Community for Outdoor Recreation, a nonprofit which is raising money to rebuild Lopes Playground in Onset, is hosting a raffle to mark its first major fundraising effort.
Tickets cost $25 apiece. First prize is $1,000; second prize is $750; third prize is $500. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Tickets will be drawn on June 15.
Headed by volunteers, Wareham CORE aims to build a modern, safe, all-inclusive recreational area for the benefit of the entire community. The proposed playground incorporates ideas expressed by Wareham students during a "design day" hosted by Wareham Public Schools last October. A community build is planned for fall of 2018.
Tickets can be purchased at the Onset Bay Association office, 4 Union Ave., open Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Gallery Consignment Shoppe, 247 Main St., open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
