Raymond J. Cardoza, Jr., 45, of Onset, died Sunday, November 30, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the husband of Mary H. (Phillips) Cardoza.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of Raymond J. Cardoza, Sr. of Buzzards Bay and Amalia (Camigliano) Haggerty of Wareham.

Mr. Cardoza graduated from Wareham High School after attending Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School. He worked in construction with his father, Ray Cardoza Builders for 20 years; as a mechanic at Buzzards Bay Garage; a security guard for Burns Security and most recently as an overnight awake shift worker for a local group home. He also served as a board member for the Onset Youth Center for 10 years and was a special mentor for Mentor, Inc.

Mr. Cardoza enjoyed computers and electronics and was known in the C.B. radio community by his handle, “Big Brother”.

He is survived by his wife Mary; his daughter who was his heart and soul, DeAnna J. Cardoza of Onset; his mother, Amalia Haggerty of Wareham; his father Raymond J. Cardoza Sr. and his step-mother Eda of Buzzards Bay; his siblings, Renee Serrano of Wareham, Raymond A. Cardoza of Wareham, Eva Sheehy of Sandwich, Barbara Lauze of Mashpee; his nieces and nephews, Angel Figueroa, Jessica Serrano, Jenessel Serrano, Sheena Hodge, Nicholas Hemsworth, Mathew Sheehy, Jonathan Sheehy, Sophia Sheehy, Ashley B. Cardoza and Raymond A. Cardoza, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Friday, December 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
