Remember When: Hurricane Memories
Wareham Historical Society Program will be hosting "Remember When: Hurricane Memories" on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Old Methodist Meeting House on 495 Main Street, Wareham, MA.
The Wareham Historical Society will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Hurricane of September 21, 1938, by inviting the public to share memories, stories, pictures and any memorabilia that relates to their experiences from past hurricanes.
The hurricanes of New England all left their calling cards on our coastline. This is a repeat of the wonderful WHS program last November, when we gathered to hear about the courage and resilience of members of our community during some of the most challenging storms of the past.
Please join us, especially if you participated last year, so that the Wareham Historical Society can film the program to preserve testimony on how these storms impacted your lives and how you and your neighbors witnessed loss and devastation in the wake of these storms. A presentation on several notable hurricanes will be made from the historical society’s archives. Refreshments will be served following the program.
Admission is free for Wareham Historical Society Members. For non-members, the cost is $2.00. For more information call Angela M. Dunham, President at 509-295-8578.
The prices for Wareham Historical Society Memberships are: $15 for an individual, $25 for a family, a lifetime membership cost $250.
