The Wareham Police Department is investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred at the Subway located at 2890 Cranberry Highway, East Wareham, at approximately 10:49 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, according to a Wareham Police Department press release. 

According to Wareham Police, the suspect was masked and brandished what appeared to be a firearm while instructing the employees to open the cash register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency out of the cash register and fled the store. No employees were injured.

Wareham officers along with detectives and a Plymouth County Sherriff K-9 canvassed the immediate area and were unable to locate the suspect. Officers did however locate what appeared to be a toy revolver wrapped in electrical tape in a nearby roadside ditch, according to the press release.

The pictured Chevy Avalanche is believed to have been involved in a similar incident with Somerset police, according to Public Information Officer Bryan Whalen.
