Richard James Brow, Sr.
Richard James Brow, Sr., of Braintree, passed away after a brief illness, Dec. 30.
Beloved husband of the late Ardeth P. (Campbell) Brow. Loving father of Lauren Keefe and her husband Michael, of Middleboro, and Richard J. Brow, Jr., and his wife Linda, of Braintree. Cherished “Papa” of Shana and her husband Josh, Michael and Deanna, Amanda, Nicole, Lexi and Jillian. “Great Papa”, of Tyler, Amari, Kelise, Jamari and Mason. Brother of Bernard, of Florida, Warren and his wife Betty, of Weymouth, Alicia Thurberg, of Wareham, and the late Andrew, John Edward, Sr. Marie Andree and Theresa Kawa.
Richard proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. During the 1950s, Richard was famous for selling ice cream in his ice cream truck throughout Braintree. In 1954, Richard bought his first oil truck and established Brow Oil Company, which was recently honored for being in business for 60 years in Braintree. In his spare time he loved to travel to various antique shows. He enjoyed boating and fishing, and especially, cherished making memories with his family.
Relatives and friends gathered in the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 5 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Church, Braintree at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
