Richard Sidney “Rick” Leedham, Jr.,67
Richard Sidney “Rick” Leedham, Jr.,67, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2026, at his home in Randolph, MA. He was born in Stoughton, MA on June 9, 1959, to the late Richard S. Leedham, Sr., and the late Carol (Sullivan) Leedham. He started life in Brockton, moved to the Indian Mound Beach area of Wareham, and was a 1978 graduate of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical Vocational High School. Rick’s primary interest was in culinary arts, and he went on to cook for many years at the Breaker 19 Diner in Buzzards Bay.
He enjoyed adventure ¬– whether it was driving around in his black 1968 Ford Bronco, or journeying to Pahrump, Nevada with a 50-gallon auxiliary gas tank in the back seat or riding out Hurricane Bob at the Coast Guard foghorn – Rick and his friends never lacked for excitement. A committed bachelor, he enjoyed the company of many good friends, with whom he kept in contact all his life. Rick was a union laborer for many years. He was a regular volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store in Buzzards Bay and also maintained the coffee pot as a public service at Christy’s Market in East Wareham. Rick loved all sports, the arts, shell fishing, gardening and cooking. He was always at the door bearing a crockpot of his famous “Five-Alarm Chili” when it was time for Patriots kick-off. In summers, he loved camping, swimming, and fishing with his buddies at Myles Standish State Forest.
Rick was pre-deceased by his beloved cockatoo “Psycho Chicken.” He is survived by his loving sister Karen Leedham, of Randolph, Mass.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are in the care of Cartwright Funeral Homes, 419 North Main St., Randolph, MA. In lieu of flowers, Karen requests memorial donations be made to a Go-Fund-Me account set up at https://gofund.me/c96fb665c to assist with cremation and burial expenses.
