Rita L. Dove, 86
Rita L. (Diotte) Dove, 86, of Bedford, formerly of Wareham died November 17, 2010 in the Bedford V.A. Medical Center after an illness. She was the widow of the late Francis “Frank” Dove and the daughter of the late Alexander and Flora (Garneau) Diotte.
She was born in Braintree and lived in Walpole, Newfoundland and Wareham for many years before moving to Bedford.
Mrs. Dove was a WWII Navy veteran.
Mrs. Dove worked as an accountant for Massachusetts General Hospital. She had also worked as a nurse for special needs children.
She was a charter member of the D.A.V. Chapter 69 in Wareham, a past commander of D.A.V. Chapter 90 in Norwood and a member of the WAVES. She was a member of the American Legion Post 220 and the Wareham Lodge of Elks #1548
Survivors include her sister Doris Johnson, of Quincy; a brother, Walter J. Diotte of Braintree; several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Alice Cormier, Edna Sullivan, Henry J. Diotte, Norman Diotte, Richard Diotte, Alfred Diotte and George Diotte.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
