Robert E. Daley, 82
Robert E. Daley, 82, of Carver, formerly of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully with his family at his side after a courageous three-year battle with cancer on July 5, 2011. He was the son of the late Benjamin T. and Eunice (Lewis) Daley.
He was born June 27, 1929 in Laconia, NH.
Bob graduated from Northampton High School, Northampton in 1948.
He graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, Boston in 1950. Upon graduation from Bentley he entered the U.S. Navy and served honorably during the Korean Conflict on the U.S.S. Mindoro CVE 120, Norfolk, VA.
After serving his country, he and his wife settled in Franklin, MA and raised their family. He was employed with the Bank of Boston until retiring in 1984. He and his wife retired to FL, enjoying ballroom and line dancing.
He was a member of the Monument Beach Sportsman Club in Bourne.
He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Rose C. (Gibson) Daley, his daughter, Vanessa Coles of Wareham, sons Mark Daley of Spokane, WA and David Daley of Sanford, ME and his sister, Phyllis Dandeau of Cleveland, OH. He was the grandfather of Joshua Coles, Veronica McIntosh, Aprile Daley, and Ethan and Adam Daley. He was the proud uncle to many, many, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Edward, Frank, and Eleanor (Daley) Colon and his son, Benjamin Daley.
His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
