Robert O. Sheehy, 80

Robert O. Sheehy, 80, of Virginia Beach, VA died unexpectedly on April 26, 2014.

Robert was the son of the late John E. and Ida M. (Holt) Sheehy of East Wareham. He attended Wareham schools and graduated from Wareham High School.

He served in the U.S. Army for three years specializing in ordinance. He worked for H.A. Suddard Ford for many years before opening his own radiator and canvas business. He also served as the Harbormaster for the town of Wareham. After moving to Largo, FL, he owned and operated a canvas/upholstery business until retirement.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography, and he was a talented carpenter. He also loved to bowl and belonged to many leagues over the years.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Bagley) Sheehy of Virginia Beach, and two sons, William Sheehy of Wareham and John Sheehy and his wife Lindsay of Hudson; and three grandchildren, Robert W. Sheehy of Carver, and Lily and Charlotte Sheehy of Hudson.

He is also survived by three step-children, Steve Chaston, Sharon Villalobos and her husband Armando, and Ellen Chaston and her friend Mike; and his step-grandchildren Josh, Isabella, Ryan, and Connor.

He was predeceased by his brothers Ray and Jack Sheehy, and his sisters Ruth Mores, Margaret “Peg” Sheehy, and Evelyn Hunter.

He was also predeceased by his wife of many years Elaine (Stuart) Sheehy.

He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, great friends, and his beloved dog Noel.

There will be a remembrance service in Wareham at a later date.
