Rollover crash injures 3 on Tihonet Road in Wareham

Two people were taken to Rhode Island Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 5 after a rollover near the Mill Pond Diner.

Officials reported an off-duty firefighter called in the crash, which had trapped the two people inside, at approximately 7:20 p.m. CPR was performed on at least one of the victims at the scene where a late model Cadillac ended up on its roof after striking a utility pole at the corner of Tihonet Road and Route 28. One of the victims was transported via helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

A second victim was taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital. Their conditions are unavailable at this time, fire officials said. State Police were called in to conduct an accident reconstruction at the crash. First responders from Marion and Onset also assisted at the scene. Wareham Fire officials report the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
