Ronald Bean, 57

Ronald John “Jack” Bean, 57, of East Wareham died May 3 at home. He was the son of the late Charles S. and Jean L. (Bell) Bean.

He was born in Boston and lived in Brookline and Waltham before moving to Wareham in 1988. He graduated from Brookline High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1980.

Mr. Bean worked for the United States Postal Service in Watertown for many years before retiring. He served as a call fire fighter at the East Wareham Fire Station.

He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a member of Cape Cod HOG. He enjoyed bowling, dogs, cats and animals. He was a handyman and could fix most anything.

Survivors include two daughters, Amanda L. Kearns and her husband Douglas of St. Charles, Missouri, Danielle M. Bean of Charleston, South Carolina; a son, Justin M. Bean of Vista, California; two sisters, Barbara Gilligan of Marshfield and Cheryl Matta of Salinas, California; two brothers, Richard Bean of Franklin and Charles Bean of Carver. He was the brother of the late Linda Bean.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. 

Visiting hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
