RoseBrook Wine & Spirits requests move to Seth Tobey Road
On Tuesday, Selectmen said they want additional information before transferring RoseBrook Wine & Spirits’ liquor license to a new location.
Board members heard the request from the store’s spokesperson, Daniel Chamberlain, who said the business wants to move to a larger space at 16-18 Seth Tobey Road. The two homes currently at that location would be torn down and a new, 7,000 square-foot building would be erected for the store, which would then be called Liquor ‘N More. Currently, the store is in a 2,900-square-foot space at 20 Rosebrook Place.
Several Liquor ‘N More establishments exist in Massachusetts, and this one needs to be bigger to create consistency throughout the locations, said Chamberlain. A bigger building will ensure the same products can be available in each location, he said.
Selectmen were hesitant to issue a license for this change since Liquor 'N More did not have a definite opening date or concrete site plans.
Selectman Alan Slavin requested the hearing continue at the next Selectmen meeting on July 11 “to make sure nothing’s hidden” and so all the information can be produced.
Selectman Anthony Scarsciotti agreed that the proposal was “too vague” as it is currently. Selectmen will revisit the issue on July 11 at 7:15 p.m.
