Rosemarie Dias, 68

WAREHAM – Rosemarie Dias, 68, of Wareham, passed away on May 15, 2025 after sustaining injuries in an car accident in Middleboro,  along with her longtime partner, Cecil “Tex” Johnson.  She was the daughter of the late Antone Dias, Sr. and Rosemarie (Babbitt) Dias.

She was born in Wareham and lived there her whole life.  She graduated from Wareham High School, class of 1975 and attended Bridgewater State University.

Rosemarie worked as a Supervisor for Upham’s Corner Health Center in Dorchester for over 40 years.

She enjoyed reading, tending to her houseplants and flower gardens, going to the movie theater, window shopping, visiting family in Waterbury, CT, occasional trips to try her luck at the casino, going to the beach and sunbathing.  Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Survivors include her brothers, Michael Dias of Huntington, WV and Paul Roman Dias of Wareham; her aunts and uncle, Beverly Maia, Cheryl Babbitt, Leslie Babbitt-Belcher, Alan Babbitt and Norman Mendes; her nephews and nieces, David Gomes, Taed Dias, Halle Rose Dias, Michael Dias, Jr., Myles Dias, Elijan Dias; her great nephews and nieces, Dana, Kaylee, Darren, Roman, Venice, and Ryleigh; her Godchildren, Alisha, Dina, Shaakira, and Devyn; several cousins.  She will be forever missed by Nita Mendes and Judy Barnett as they and Rosemarie were known as “The Three Amigos”. She was predeceased by her brothers, Norman E. Dias and Antone Dias, Jr., PhD. 

A celebration honoring Rosemarie’s life will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Dudley Brown VFW Post, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd., Onset.  Arrangements are by Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
