A winter weather advisory is in effect and will remain in place through Wednesday night, according the National Weather Service.

Wareham is forecasted to get between 3 and 5 inches of snow and sleet before Wednesday's storm brings more snow and freezing rain to the area.

Due to icy conditions Tuesday evening, the State Police closed Route 195 East in Wareham after numerous minor vehicle crashes and spin-outs, the department reported. Authorities treated the highway, however, and reopened all travel lanes.

The First Congregational Church on Gibbs Avenue is hosting the Nights of Hospitality this week. Anyone in need of shelter can visit the church at 7 p.m. and stay until 7 a.m. Meals will be provided.
