Rubber Duck Race Returns!

May 4, 2017

Story Location:
146 Tihonet Road
Wareham, MA
United States

Join the Friends of the Wareham Free Library for the Rubber Duck Race at the Tihonet Pond. This super-fun fundraiser has something for all ages. Activities take place at Tihonet Village and begin at 11 am on May 28 with games for children, duck decorating and registering for the race. At 1:30 awards will be given for the best decorated ducks. Then at 2:00 the race begins!

Ducks may be purchased and decorated before race day at the following places: Wareham Free Library, Spinney Memorial Branch Library, The Cape Cod Five Cent Savings Bank, Nemasket Kayak Center, and Makepeace Farms. In addition, ducks will be on sale prior to the race at the Wareham Oyster Festival on Main Street on the same day as the race.

Sponsoring the Friends again this year is Watchman Waterproofing who will distribute duck whistles for all, and the A.D. Makepeace Company supplying the location and assistance with the race.

Purchase one duck for $5. Or buy a 6 Quack for $25. A Baker’s Dozen gets you 13 ducks for $50, and a Golden Flock for $100 allows you to have 25 ducks in the race. All proceeds support the work of the Friends. And the Friends support the Wareham Free Library!
