Ruben “Red Rube” Williamson

Ruben “Red Rube” Williamson of Wareham, formerly of Boston, departed this life on January 3, 2022. The son of Mattie Smith and the late David Smith, Ruben was born on the 27th of April 1958 in Boston.

Ruben attended Boston English High School and completed his education at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He started his career as an entrepreneur from a young age while working various jobs to support his family and dreams.

Ruben enjoyed quality time with his family. He was a people person. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, board games, dancing, joking around and giving back to the community. 

On July 29th, 2000 Ruben married his late wife Nadine “Cha-Cha” Alves Williamson. They were blessed to have enjoyed almost 19 years of marriage. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife. (They were inseparable). They cherished every moment together. Ruben was preceded in death by his loving wife Nadine “Cha-Cha.”

Ruben has left to mourn his loving mother, Mattie Smith; daughter, Deri Parham; his sons, William White III, Jarrod Alves, Terrell Alves, and Dominick Alves. 

Ruben is survived by his grandchildren; Tadiq Parham, Javante Dodson, Tayden White- Morales, Jaiden, Jailece, Julius, Janyea, Jaxxon, Zaire, Jemeriah and Julian Alves.

Ruben was a loving brother to his sisters; Deborah Lovings (husband Kevin Lovings), Donna Smith, Andrea Smith (husband Harold Nichols, deceased), Wanda Butler (deceased) her husband Darryl Butler, and his brothers; David Powers, and Andre Williams. 

Sisters-in law; Gloria Alves, Doren Pires, and Alicia Webster. Brothers-in-law; Kelly Webster, Derck Webster, and Lance Webster.

Ruben also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends to cherish his memories.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 10 to 11 a.m.  A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.  Ruben will be laid to rest immediately following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Tihonet Rd., Wareham.
