Ruth M. (Nightingale) Westgate, 77, of Wareham, died Feb. 9 in Tobey Hospital. She was the widow of the late Allen E. Westgate. They were married for 57 years.

She was the daughter of the late Ford and Nellie (Sweeney) Nightingale.

She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life. Mrs. Westgate graduated from Wareham High School.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include 2 sons, Allen J. Westgate of Sagamore Beach and Steven Westgate of Buzzards Bay; 2 daughters, Sharon Snyder and her husband Tracy of Buzzards Bay and Laurianne Bradley of Bourne; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.

Her funeral was held Monday. Burial will be in Agawam Cemetery.
