Salon Red: New business, same great stylists

Apr 16, 2021

Salon Red is a new name, but the same stylists are hard at work making locals look good in their newly redecorated space in the Shaw’s plaza on Marion Road.

The location, which used to be a Supercuts, reopened under stylist Shawna Fitzpatrick’s ownership on Feb. 20.

Now as a small, independent business, Fitzpatrick said she and fellow stylists Melissa Muller, Kacey Solimine and Kristen White have more freedom to try new techniques and products with clients. Along with added responsibility, the stylists say they have added happiness in their work.

“I think it’s exciting, and it opens new doors for us to offer new services,” said Fitzpatrick.

A recent addition to their roster is the Olaplex treatment, which helps repair damaged hair.

The salon works with all genders and all ages, and the stylists said they are excited to continue to give back to the community.

“Shawna likes to support the community,” said White. Now that the business is independent, the stylists are excited to spend more time supporting local kids, athletic programs, and others in the community.

For several years, they have worked to give back through donated baskets of products and gift cards for raffle fundraisers.

The stylists also give foster kids free haircuts and products to care for their hair around Christmas, and they are planning an event for seniors in partnership with the Council on Aging.
